Job Summary:
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the Heartland Senior Living facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and staff spaces. Your work ensures a sanitary and pleasant living environment for our residents while helping promote their health and comfort.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform general housekeeping duties in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and offices
- Ensure cleanliness of floors, windows, furniture, and fixtures, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
- Assist residents with personal laundry, bed linens, and housekeeping needs
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or concerns to the management team
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment in compliance with sanitation and infection control policies
- Restock housekeeping supplies and manage inventory as needed
- Ensure trash removal from resident rooms and common areas is done efficiently
- Follow safety guidelines for cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are used properly and stored safely
- Follow schedules for daily, weekly, and seasonal cleaning tasks
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Daily Cleaning: Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize all resident rooms and common areas
- Laundry Assistance: Help with washing, drying, and folding resident laundry and linens
- Resident Support: Assist with room organization, making beds, and maintaining a clutter-free space
- Health and Safety: Adhere to infection control practices and handle all cleaning products per guidelines to ensure a safe living environment
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with caregiving and nursing staff to support residents and maintain a positive atmosphere
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- Experience in housekeeping or working in a senior living or healthcare environment preferred but not required
- A positive attitude and genuine care for the well-being of seniors
- Ability to prioritize tasks and stay organized in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
